Our Beginning

Chris Heliin desired to return to the game that helped shape him into the man, business owner, and husband he has become. But as someone who had a two decade hiatus from the game,, semi-pro football was his only option. What he found was vastly different from what he remembered. The only form of football where the individual was bigger than the team. This was disrespecting the game he loved so much. His involvement with Salt Lake Senate in 2021, Chris's fresh perspective highlighted the importance of discipline and respect for the game over everything. His business sense and leadership skills helped reshape the team, and within a year, he was promoted to General Manager and minority equity owner.

Going into his second season with the Senate, Chris knew that a strong head coach was imperative for the team's success. He required a leader with strong community ties and a deep understanding of the current landscape. Coach Wright, who had recently won a State 6A title with Skyridge High School and achieved many years of success with EZ training program, was the perfect fit.

In 2023, the team shifted its focus and strategy into a development team, committing to advancing Utah athletes. The emphasis on culture and discipline was embraced by players and staff alike, despite facing unexpected challenges such as forfeits and league related complications.

Coach Wright and Chris Heliin are set out to finish what they had started, leading to the birth of the Utah Islanders after education football program. The team has a steadfast vision and a commitment to advancing Utah football while embodying the culture of the community.
